Police have captured a bull that was roaming through streets in central Las Vegas for several hours this morning. Police are still searching for the owner.

The 51s will officially break ground on their new ballpark in Summerlin on Feb. 23.

It wasn’t a typical chase Wednesday morning involving Las Vegas police. Las Vegas Animal Control as well as a sergeant from the Henderson Police Department joined forces to capture a bull on the loose in central Las Vegas. The bull’s freedom lasted about four hours after being spotted around 3 .a.m. at Turquoise Road and Silver Lake Drive. The bull finally was corralled on Ophir Drive. Metro tracked the bull with a helicopter and patrol units blocked traffic while the bull was tranquilized and finally coaxed into a trailer about 7 a.m. This was not the first time a bull had gotten loose inside city limits. On April 16, 2017, a bull bolted for freedom from his northwest valley corral near Texas Station and was captured while running southbound on Michael Way.

A first responder and patient were killed this morning after an ambulance hydroplaned and rolled over. It happened on the south end of the Strip near I-15.

Comedian Marty Allen has died in Las Vegas. He was suffering complications related to pneumonia. He was 95.

A man reportedly tried to lure a student into his car Monday near Saville Middle School. The student was able to run to safety.

Two more women have told Las Vegas police that Steve Wynn assaulted them in the 1970s. Police say they encourage all victims to come forward.

Authorities expect a preliminary report on the deadly Grand Canyon helicopter crash to be released within 10 days.

President Trump has included $120 million in his budget blueprint to restart licensing of Yucca Mountain.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman told Trump on Monday how important she thinks it is to widen I-15 from California.

Four people are dead after a small plane crashed while flying from Henderson to Southern California. The plane hit power lines about 40 miles north of LA.

The four survivors of a helicopter crash in the Grand Canyon are British tourists. They’re being treated at UMC. Strong winds may have been a factor in the crash.

Light rain showers are expected in the Las Vegas Valley through midweek.

A new show named Inferno has opened at the Paris theater.

Nevada’s first cat cafe, Meow or Never, will open in downtown Las Vegas in April.

Man stops L.A. deputy to confess to 2013 killing in Las Vegas

A man flagged down a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy and confessed to killing a man near downtown Las Vegas in 2013, police say. Police say 32-year-old Eric Jesus Martinez gave up details of the stabbing that “would only be known to the suspect.” The victim, Ronald Gray, was found on a sidewalk with more than 100 stab wounds in front of the Salvation Army. Martinez said “the voices in his head told him to kill him,” according to an arrest report. It remains unclear why Martinez turned himself in. He’s being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail.

Tough Mudder launches studio brand in Las Vegas

Tough Mudder, the obstacle course competition series, is opening a Las Vegas studio. It’s one of two inaugural locations for the new Tough Mudder Bootcamp brand. The studio, set to open in April, will offer high-intensity interval training for $10 a class. The studio program will cater to those training for Tough Mudder events and the general public. “When you go in a big gym, you’re most of the time just by yourself. You’re lonely, you do repetitive things, and it becomes boring. With our bootcamp, we bring that amazing atmosphere from the (Tough Mudder) event to the classroom.”

2 dead at Henderson apartment complex

Henderson police are investigating a possible murder-suicide at Parkway Townhomes.
Police received a call around 5:30 a.m. from the complex at Windmill Parkway and North Pecos Road. When police entered an apartment they found a man and a woman dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
This is Henderson’s first homicide of 2018.

The city of Las Vegas will request up to $9.5 million from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to fund capital improvements at the Fremont Street Experience. A 21-year-old driver is dead after a car plunged into a lake in northwest Las Vegas.

A veteran Las Vegas police officer, Bret Theil, is indicted on more than two dozen kidnapping and sexual assault charges involving a child. Prosecutors say the crimes occurred over several years.

The city of Las Vegas wants to spend nearly $10 million on a large-scale renovation of the Fremont Street Experience. The renovations are expected to take more than a year.

A former UNLV football player, Richard Mapp, has pleaded guilty in a sex trafficking case.

A judge has ordered Las Vegas police to release 911 calls and body camera footage from the night of Oct. 1.

A women’s advocacy group is calling for Steve Wynn’s name to be removed from his hotel.

Sen. Dean Heller says he plans to introduce a bill to speed up the removal of undocumented immigrants affiliated with criminal street gangs.

The North Las Vegas City Council has voted 4-1 to fire Qiong Liu as city manager. She’s accused of attempting to give herself an extra $30,000 dollars in pay.

1 dead after car plunges into lake

One person died when a vehicle he was riding in plunged into a lake in west Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report at 12:53 a.m. Thursday of a car submerged in a lake in Desert Shores.
A Technical Rescue Team was on the scene around 1:30 a.m. pulling the vehicle out of the water. Rescue crews donned wet suits to help pull the man out of the vehicle.
Las Vegas police confirmed at 2:31 a.m. that one person had died. Officers and investigators don’t believe at this time there was anyone else in the vehicle.

Man killed, girlfriend found safe 

Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide and kidnapping Wednesday morning in the west valley. A woman’s ex-boyfriend broke into a home, shot her current boyfriend and then kidnapped her, police said. She was later found safe.
The man who was shot was taken to a hospital where he died. The shooter was taken into custody after a chase that ended near Interstate 15 and Tropicana Avenue.
