How surprised could Obama have been?

That's the question many will ask in light of an explosive new document that shows that the Obama Administration backed the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi.

Remember, it wasn't long ago when the president himself said all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release. Yet, he backed the release in a secret letter?

The president's credibility on any number of fronts is already in question. Health care tax ... "summer of recovery" ... the stimulus is working ... etc.

But this may sink his credibility and, by extension, those key Democrats in Congress like Sen. Harry Reid who he desperately needs to be re-elected this fall. Given the closeness of Obama and Reid, do you think Sen. Reid knew about the Obama Administration's letter backing Megrahi's release? If he didn't, will he condemn the Obama Administration for it?
