Final: Colorado State 41, UNLV 28. The Rebels lose a heartbreaker when Colorado State tailback Gartrell Johnson rushes in from 10 yards for a touchdown with 9 seconds left. His 2-point scoring run makesthe score 35-28. UNLV couldn’t stop Johnson, who finished with 191 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries. UNLV (3-3, 0-2 Mountain West Conference) takes a major hit in trying to become bowl eligible. The Rebels also have lost back-to-back games after their best start in five years. Colorado State is 3-2, 1-0. UNLV rallied from 27-14 down in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 1-yard run by tailback Frank Summers and a 21-yard pass from quarterback Omar Clayton to wide receiver Jerriman Robinson. But then the Rams answered with a 12-play, 80-yard drive to win the game. They added a final touchdown on the final play when UNLV tried the California Bears multiple lateral play and the Rams’ John Mosure grabbed the loose ball and ran into the end zone.
