Valley apartment construction stalls

Apartment construction, like single-family homes, has slowed to a crawl in Las Vegas as landlords struggle with rising vacancy rates and falling rents. Builders completed 2,670 apartment units in 2008, though production is expected to fall to under 1,000 units this year, said Michael Shaffner, associate vice president for Marcus & Millichap real estate investment services in Las Vegas.

UNLV loses to San Diego State in overtime
