What Uber and Lyft are doing to Las Vegas Strip busses

Bus ridership on the Las Vegas Strip has declined as ride-hailing apps rise.

Nearly 13 million boardings were reported on Strip area routes over the last year.

That’s a 10.3 percent decline from the previous year.

The Regional Transportation Commission says it’s okay with the changes caused by technologies like Uber and Lyft.

It says it may need to change its schedules as a result.

Buses operating along the Strip generated more than $20 million last year, down nearly 12 percent.

Despite the declines, RTC says bus lines along the Strip are the most profitable routes in the U.S.
