A man accused of leaving the scene of a crash that killed two people on a moped has been indicted by a Clark County grand jury, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Humberto Lespron faces one count of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of destroying evidence in connection with a March 18 wreck that left Nicholas Monday, 20, and Phillip Le Nguyen, 21, dead.

Police said the two men were on a scooter stopped at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road when they were struck by a 2008 Ford pickup.

Prosecutors said they believe Lespron was drunk at the time of the crash and fled the scene to avoid being charged with DUI.

On Wednesday, Chief Judge Jennifer Togliatti set bail for Humberto at $25,000, and ordered him to remain on house arrest should he be released from jail.
