Weekend flash flood watch issued

A flash flood watch has been issued this weekend for most of Southern Nevada by the National Weather Service.

The watch remains in place from noon Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. Areas that could be affected include Clark, Nye and Lincoln counties.

The possible flooding is not expected to be as severe as the flooding was in the Rainbow Canyon areas of Mount Charleston earlier this week, weather service meteorologist Chris Outler said.

The National Weather Service also cautions Southern Nevadans to be careful on roads that could be flooded or covered with debris and mud.

In addition, a flash flood warning is in effect until 4:15 p.m. Friday for the area east of the Rainbow Canyon flood sites.
