ATLANTA — Atlanta police say a resident of a home on the city’s southwest side stabbed and killed a suspected intruder.

Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that officers responded to a home invasion call on Saville Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Chafee said a resident at the home struggled with an intruder and eventually stabbed him. The suspected home intruder died at the scene. The residents sustained minor injuries.
