Henderson police arrest 4 teens in vehicle burglaries

Henderson police arrested four teenagers Friday night in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries in neighborhoods near College and Mission drives.

Police did not release information about the juveniles, which is their policy. But they did say the teens are between 13 and 17 years old.

They were arrested on various charges including burglary, possession of stolen property, petit larceny, and assault and battery with a knife, according to police.

The suspects only entered unlocked vehicles so there was no damage to cars, police said.

One Henderson resident was stabbed after he chased a 17-year-old he caught breaking into his vehicle in front of his home. The injury was not life-threatening.

Police said the group continued to steal from Henderson vehicles after the stabbing.

Another resident detained a 16-year-old until officers arrived. Police then identified and arrested the others.

Henderson police are asking that anyone else who had their vehicle burglarized to file a police report or call the department at 702-267-4750.

To leave an anonymous tip, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com. Tips directly leading to an arrest or an indictment processed through Crime Stoppers could result in a cash reward.
