Suspect in car theft rams police vehicles

A 23-year-old Las Vegas man wanted on felony warrants rammed two police cars when confronted by police Tuesday morning, Las Vegas police said.

Officers spotted a black Mercedes 350, reported as a stolen vehicle, being driven by Samual Donesing near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Donesing was wanted on felony warrants related to possessing a different stole vehicle, police said.

When the officers closed in on the vehicle, Donesing rammed two unmarked police cars and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers did not pursue the Mercedes, but monitored Donesing from a safe distance.

Because of the collision with the two police vehicles, the Mercedes broke down near Spring Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard, where Donesing was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Officers found a stolen handgun after searching the Mercedes, according to police.

Donesing was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday on several charges, including auto burglary, battery of a police officer with a deadly weapon, evading police and possession of a stolen vehicle among others.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
