Man found slain in Las Vegas parking lot

A man was found dead in a parking lot near Nellis Boulevard and Bonanza Road early Friday morning, according to Las Vegas police.

Police responded to a call at 12:45 a.m. in the 5200 block of Walnut Avenue. Someone called 911 after thinking that they heard gunfire and saw a man lying in the parking lot of the apartment complex, police spokesman Bill Cassell said.

When the police arrived, they found a black male, 49, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
