Green Valley golf standout Kaui wins sectional, lands spot in U.S. Women’s Open

Green Valley High School senior Alex Kaui shot 3-under-par 141 on Monday to claim a five-shot victory in a U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifier at Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale, Ariz.

With the win, Kaui earned a spot in the LPGA Tour’s third major of the year. The U.S. Open is scheduled for June 27-30 at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.

■ PREP BASEBALL — The Southern Nevada Baseball Coaches Association will hold two all-star games today at College of Southern Nevada’s Morse Stadium. The All-Star Game, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will feature the All-Sunrise Region selections vs. the All-Sunset Region picks.

The Senior Game, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., and is made up of senior players who did not make the all-region game. Both games are nine innings.
