Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run identified

A pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident Saturday night has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Herbert Towns Parker, 60, was crossing Jones Boulevard at Saddle Drive at about 11 p.m. when a Nissan Xterra hit him and then left the scene of the accident, according to Las Vegas police.

Police recovered the abandoned vehicle a short time later at the intersection of Jones and Flamingo Road.

Police arrested Elizabeth Meza, 33, at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday after she surrendered to police. She faces one felony count of duty to stop at the scene of an accident and one misdemeanor count of failure to yield/exercise due care to a pedestrian.
