Argument leads to Kingman homicide

KINGMAN, Ariz. - A dispute between neighbors escalated into a homicide in Kingman on Tuesday.

Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said James Clifton Craft, 70, called the department at 10:13 p.m. indicating he had just shot a man at a triplex.

Carter said 27-year-old Matthew James Paulson instigated a verbal confrontation before Craft shot him once with a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun. She said Paulson was not armed and the cause of the argument was not immediately clear.

Carter said Paulson retreated inside his residence where he was found dead. Craft was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail for second-degree murder.
