Water Cooler: Jodie speak, Lance & Oprah, pythons

Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ Jodie Foster's cryptic but oddly compelling speech is a highlight of the Golden Globe awards ceremony. Her character in "Nell" was easier to follow.

■ The maker of the real estate board game "Monopoly" asks fans to pick a new token for the game. May we suggest a scuba diver token in metaphorical tribute to Southern Nevada's real estate market?

■ Nearly 800 people sign up for a monthlong python hunt in Florida's Everglades. The early line is snakes minus 799.

■ Lance Armstrong confesses to Oprah Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France. In other news, the sky is blue, ice is cold and "reality" shows aren't real.
