Authorities have identified a 48-year-old man who died after riding his mountain bike into the path of a car.

Clark County coroner's officials said Joseph William Galterio was killed while trying to cross Charleston Boulevard at Pecos Street just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials said Galterio didn't yield at a stop sign and was struck by a Mercury Grand Marquis. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the 28-year-old man driving the Mercury had minor injuries.
