Fossil enthusiasts rewarded with special dig

Volunteers who monitor rich ice-age fossil beds in the northwestern edge of the Las Vegas Valley were rewarded with a dig at the site Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. The area, which is being considered for designation as a national monument, continues to provide clues about ancient animals and climate change.
