Convention authority receives international excellence award
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority received the Gold Certification from the International Association of Convention Centers for excellence in convention center performance, an honor only bestowed to 21 centers worldwide.
To be considered, the convention authority completed an application and submitted to an external audit, for which it received a near-perfect score for its management practices, policies, procedures and customer service.
"We are extremely proud of this achievement," said Terry Jicinsky, senior vice president of operations for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in a statement. "The award is a true testament to our organization and the people behind it who make the convention center the world-class facility it is."
Convention centers were rated in areas including facility performance measures, financial accountability, economic impacts, customer service, security, emergency response, financial integrity, employee relations, supplier relations, community relations, communications, environmental responsibility and industry relations.
