Man in critical condition after driving into pole
A 50-year-old man is in critical condition at the University Medical Center this morning after he drove into a traffic signal near Cheyenne Avenue, just west of Rainbow Avenue, police said.
Lee Turner was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after the 12:23 a.m. Tuesday accident in which he lost control of his 2012 Ford Escape just west of Rainbow Boulevard while traveling east on Cheyenne Avenue, police said.
According to witness reports, Turner ran into the traffic signal that was located on a raised median, and his vehicle's front end suffered severe damage.
The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
