Pilot killed in Arizona plane crash identified
The pilot killed in a fiery crash in northwest Arizona on Thursday has been identified as John E. Sable, 73, of Mohave Valley.
The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said Sable was the only person aboard the 1972 Cessna 182p, which crashed and exploded in a mountainous area about 35 miles southwest of Kingman at
12:10 p.m.
Sable was flying from Lake Havasu City to an airfield in Fort Mohave, agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said. The aircraft was destroyed by fire, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
