Cause of infant’s death ruled ‘undetermined’

The Clark County coroner has ruled the death of an infant found in a trash bin last month as undetermined.

A maintenance worker at Rancho Mesa Apartments, 2881 N. Rancho Drive, discovered 28-day-old "Baby Girl" Robinson on July 18 in an industrial trash bin at the complex.

Las Vegas police tracked down the teenage mother, who hid the pregnancy and home birth from her family. Police think the mother hid the body at home before putting it in the trash bin.

Police have not identified the mother, and no one has been arrested.

After they finish an investigation, police will send their findings to the district attorney to determine whether criminal charges will be filed, officer Bill Cassell said.
