Mike McDade hit his first home run with the 51s, a three-run shot in the third inning, and had four RBIs in Las Vegas' 6-3 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes in the Pacific Coast League on Friday at Albuquerque, N.M.
McDade, a 23-year-old Las Vegan who attended Silverado High School, was promoted from Double-A New Hampshire on Monday. The switch-hitting first baseman homered to center field against Isotopes left-hander Derrick Loop (9-3) to give the 51s a 4-1 lead.
McDade, who also singled, drove in Las Vegas' final run with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly that scored Adeiny Hechavarria. Batting cleanup in all four games with the 51s, McDade is hitting .286 (4-for-14) with four RBIs and four runs.
The 51s (64-49) had nine hits off three Albuquerque pitchers, with leadoff man Mike McCoy and No. 9 hitter Tuffy Gosewisch getting two apiece. Gosewisch, a 28-year-old catcher, made his 51s debut four days after being acquired from the Phillies. He had been with Triple-A Lehigh Valley of the International League.
Las Vegas right-hander Scott Richmond (8-6) allowed three runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out four and walking one. He gave up solo home runs to Jerry Sands in the second inning and Scott Van Slyke in the fifth.
51s relievers Clint Everts, David Carpenter and Chad Beck combined for eight strikeouts in 3 1/3 shutout innings.
The teams conclude their four-game series at 6:05 p.m. today.
