Donations will send Ohio cancer patient to Disney

TOLEDO, Ohio - A 4-year-old cancer patient from Ohio who was denied a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World by her father will get to go after all.

McKenna May's mother and grandmother say so many donations have poured in during the last few days that they'll be able to pay for the trip themselves.

Online donations topped $11,000 on Friday.

The girl's father initially refused to sign off on the Make-A-Wish trip because he said she was in remission and that the trips should go to children who are sicker than his daughter.

McKenna lives in Haskins near Toledo. She had the trip postponed twice while she was undergoing treatment for leukemia. Her last treatment was about a month ago.

McKenna's parents never married, but both had to agree to the Make-A-Wish trip.
