Pimp handed three life sentences for running prostitution ring

A district judge slapped a pimp with three life prison sentences after he was convicted of running a prostitution ring in the northwest valley.
Raymond C. Sharp, 48, in September 2011 was convicted by a jury of 13 counts related to running prostitutes, including first-degree kidnapping, pandering and living off the earnings of a prostitute.
On Monday, District Judge Elissa Cadish sentenced Sharp to life in prison without the possibility of parole on the kidnapping count, and to two additional life sentences under the habitual criminal statute.
Sharp was arrested in July 2011 after Las Vegas police received a call about a hysterical and partially nude woman banging on the doors in a northwest valley neighborhood asking for help.
Police said Sharp grabbed the woman by the hair and pulled her into one of the homes.
Court records show Sharp faces a second trial in September on charges related to the prostitution ring.
