Coroner identifies man killed in 3-car collision in western Las Vegas

The Clark County coroner has identified the man killed in a three-car collision Monday afternoon as Myron Keith Wilson, 78, of Las Vegas.

Wilson was turning left from Fort Apache Avenue onto Red Hills Road, near Sahara Avenue in western Las Vegas, in a 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible at about 2 p.m. Monday when his car was struck by a 2013 Ford Mustang driving south on Fort Apache. Both drivers had green lights, according to police.

Wilson was flung from his car and died at the scene. After the initial collision, the Volkswagen struck a 1997 Acura RL. The driver of the Mustang, 18-year-old Brooke Jones, suffered minor injuries. Two passengers in her car and the driver of the Acura were uninjured.

This was the 69th traffic-related fatality in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
