Military families feel right at home

Locally owned builder Harmony Homes continues to build a reputation for attracting and supporting military families, especially with its neighborhoods of Avalon and Laguna at Vista Cielo in the northern valley.

Geoff Gorman, vice president of sales for Harmony Homes, said the builder's two Vista Cielo neighborhoods offer "large homes at low prices, with strong value, lots of included features and convenient access to Interstates 15 and 215."

He said it's a combination that has proved popular with a wide range of first-time buyers and families, especially those that include members of the military.

"Vista Cielo has become home to many members of the military stationed at the Nellis and Creech Air Force bases," Gorman said. "We're proud of that. We're also proud to offer special discounts and incentives for members of our military who buy a Harmony Home. These incentives amount to thousands of dollars and can be used in our design center, to offset their mortgage costs or to buy down their interest rate. The choice is up to the buyer."

Members of the military should contact a Harmony Homes sales representative for details about the latest discounts and incentives available to them, he said.

At both Vista Cielo neighborhoods, Gorman said Harmony Homes includes cost-saving appliances and amenities as standard features.

Examples include refrigerators, washers and dryers, garage door openers, microwave ovens and granite countertops.

Homes at each neighborhood also feature kitchens with upgraded cabinetry and stainless steel sinks, as well as 9-foot ceilings, ceramic-tile entries, master suites with dual sinks, cultured-marble vanities, low-e windows and driveways with decorative paving stones.

"Most builders charge extra for these options," he said. "The appliances and garage door openers, in particular, allow our buyers to save cash out-of-pocket because those are items most buyers have to buy at a store when they move into a new home."

Priced from the $150,000s, Avalon at Vista Cielo offers five floor plans ranging from 1,797 to 3,024 square feet. Avalon offers one-story and two-story homes with as many as four bedrooms, 2½ baths and options enabling buyers of some models to have a loft, master bedroom retreat, three-car garage and as many as six bedrooms.

Priced from the $120,000s, Laguna at Vista Cielo offers two-story homes ranging from 1,577 to 2,331 square feet. The neighborhood features four models, offering three or four bedrooms, 2½ baths, and two-car garages. Options include downstairs bedrooms and an upstairs great room available in the largest floor plan that increases the home's size from 1,985 to 2,331 square feet.

To visit, take Interstate 15 north to Craig Road and travel west to Losee Road. Turn right on Losee, head north and follow the signs.

Harmony Homes has sold more than 1,000 homes since it was formed in Southern Nevada in late 2008. So far in 2012, it has sold more than 150 local homes. It offers 14 neighborhoods throughout the Las Vegas Valley, with one- and two-story homes priced from the $110,000s and ranging from 1,462 to 4,761 square feet.

Sales offices are open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, except on Monday when they open at noon. For more information, call Avalon at 823-4100, call Laguna at 629-2200, or visit www.HarmonyHomes.com.
