Sophia, Anthony prevail as top Nevada baby names

Officials say Sophia and Anthony were the top baby name picks among Nevada parents in 2011.

The Social Security Administration said the 221 babies named Sophia puts Nevada in line with their peers nationwide. That was the top girl's name choice in the country.

But Nevada parents part company with their national counterparts when it comes to boy's names. Jacob topped the U.S. list last year, while Nevadans put that name in second place behind Anthony. There were 192 Nevada boys named Anthony in 2011.

Rounding out the top boys names in the Silver State are Daniel, Mason and Jayden. Runners-up in the top five girls' names in Nevada include Isabella, Olivia, Emily and Emma.
