Fire burns home in southeast valley

A house fire Friday morning caused about $80,000 in damage.

Authorities said the blaze started about 7:45 a.m. at 4296 El Cebra Way, near Harmon Avenue and U.S. Highway 95 in the southeast valley. The fire started in a rear bedroom and spread into the attic.

A resident, Gary Parkinson, was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene.

Clark County firefighters knocked down the fire about 8:10 a.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
