A woman suspected of drunken driving struck two pedestrians, one of whom died late Saturday night, Las Vegas police said Sunday.

The identity of the deceased 58-year-old woman from Las Vegas was not released. The other pedestrian, 54-year-old August Kunkel, was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition. Police said both pedestrians were jaywalking.

The incident occurred at 11:11 p.m. on Craig Road west of Las Vegas Boulevard.

Police said Regina Thomas, 38, of North Las Vegas was driving a 2004 Nissan Xterra SUV west on Craig. The pedestrians were hit in the westbound lanes. Thomas was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.
