ELKO - A Colorado man has been arrested on suspicion of offering bribes to Elko police officers after they arrested his girlfriend.
Police said they responded to the motel room of 39-year-old Lorenzo Garcia and his 37-year-old girlfriend, Angela Minter, after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
After Minter was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant, Garcia was accused of first offering the officers $1,000 to let her go and then offering $3,000 to free her.
The Elko Daily Free Press reported that Garcia was booked Wednesday into the Elko County Jail on a variety of charges, including bribery of a public officer, intimidating a public officer, and harboring, concealing or aiding a felony offense.
