Third candidate joins Mesquite Justice of the Peace race

A third candidate filed Thursday to replace longtime Mesquite Justice of the Peace Ron Dodd, who isn't seeking re-election.

Alisia Leavitt joins Bill Berrett and Karen Beausoleil in the race.

Leavitt didn't list a contact number in her election filing and couldn't be reached for comment Thursday.

So far 25 candidates have filed for election for the bench in Clark County. Also, three state Supreme Court judges have filed for re-election. No candidates have yet filed for Moapa or Searchlight justice courts.

Candidates have until Jan. 13 to file. The primary election will be June 12, and the general election will be Nov. 6.
