Kathleen Vermillion holds a press conference to address allegations of misuse of money from a charity she once ran

In a press conference in front of the Regional Justice Center Wednesday morning, former Henderson City Councilwoman Kathleen Vermillion addressed issues raised by an audit of the Homeless Youth Foundation, a charity she founded and ran until recently. A complaint filed earlier this year against Vermillion with the Nevada attorney general's office by Arash Ghafoori, executive director of the partnership, alleges Vermillion used the foundation to take funds from the partnership and pay her salary, make political contributions and pay expenses to the Department of Motor Vehicles, among others.
