Town Advisory Boards to meet
The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive. The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. today at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The Whitney Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave. The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Turkey Donations Sought
Winder Farms has invited its customers to help hungry Nevadans by setting up a simple turkey donation system. Winder Farms customers can click a "Donate a Turkey to the Food Bank" button, and the cost of the donation will be added to their next bill. Racing Attraction contract extended
The Richard Petty Driving Experience has extended its agreement with the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The attraction provides training and the opportunity for customers to ride or drive a stock car on the high-banked tracks of the speedway. For more information, visit lvms.com or drivepetty.com.
Speedway to host NASCAR Fanfest
at Fremont Street Experience
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is set to host a free NASCAR Fanfest beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Third Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience. The event is set to feature the 12 Chase drivers and their cars, a celebrity question-and-answer session and a performance by Nashville, Tenn., recording artist Scotty Alexander. Bob Eubanks will be on hand to host a "Newlywed Game"-style show featuring the Chase drivers. Six fans will be teamed with pairs of drivers to win prizes, including tickets to Friday's Champion's banquet at the Wynn Las Vegas.
HELP OPERATION HOMEFRONT COLLECT GIFTS
Operation Homefront Nevada and Dollar Tree are collecting holiday gifts for military children in Nevada. The toys will be donated by patrons of the more than 4,000 Dollar Tree and Deal$ stores nationwide. Last year's effort donated more than 6 million toys nationwide. Toys will be collected through Dec. 6. Gifts will be distributed to military children during holiday events. In areas where Operation Homefront does not have a chapter, local military support groups will distribute the toys to military families and their children.
