Valley Hospital names new chief executive officer

Jay Finnegan has been named chief executive officer and managing director of Valley Hospital Medical Center.

The hospital said in a statement that Finnegan has more than 30 years of experience as a hospital executive, most recently as CEO of Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center near Orlando, Fla. He has also served as Health Management Associates senior vice president and president of its Division Seven, with administrative and financial oversight of five Washington and Pennsylvania hospitals; HMA vice president and HMA Washington state market leader and CEO for Yakima Regional Medical & Cardiac Center in Yakima, Wash; CEO of Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss; and CEO of Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill, Fla.

Finnegan earned his master of arts in health care administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
