Justice Nancy Saitta named chief judge of state’s top court

Nevada Supreme Court Justice Nancy Saitta was named the new chief judge of the state's high court.

Saitta, 60, replaces Justice Michael Douglas as part of a regular rotation of senior justices. Saitta's term as chief justice will end in May.

Saitta was elected to the Supreme Court in 2006. She was first elected as a Las Vegas Municipal Court judge in 1996. Two years later she ran and won an Eighth Judicial District Court judgeship.
