Jan Jones to receive lifetime award from American Gaming Association

Jan Jones, senior vice president of communications and government relations for Caesars Entertainment Corp., will receive the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award for Gaming Communications, an industry-trade group said Thursday.

Each year, the American Gaming Association recognizes an individual for their career achievements in the gaming industry. Jones, a former mayor of Las Vegas, will be honored Oct. 5 during Global Gaming Expo.

"Throughout her career, she has made substantial contributions to the growth and development of the gaming industry, such as advancing the industry's focus on corporate social responsibility and communicating the positive impact of the gaming industry," association President Frank Fahrenkopf said.

Jones oversees worldwide government affairs, corporate communications and community relations for Caesars Entertainment. She also sits on the board directors of Nevada Public Radio and the Women's Campaign Fund.

Jones is also the regional vice chairwoman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee.
