Arizona teen dies from gunshot after playing Russian roulette

A teenager playing Russian roulette with friends has died after shooting himself in the head with a .22-caliber handgun in Kingman, Ariz., according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

Kevin J. Hudgens, 16, was declared dead Sunday at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter.

"Investigations have determined that Hudgens is the victim of playing Russian roulette in the backyard of his residence inside a travel trailer with a .22- caliber handgun," Carter said.

She said four other juveniles were present at the shooting.

Carter said the gun did not belong to Hudgens' parents and was taken to the home by someone else. Details were being withheld as the investigation continued.
