Lake Mead, Mohave fees waived beginning Saturday

In recognition of National Park Week, entrance fees to Lake Mead National Recreation Area will be waived beginning Saturday.

The weeklong fee-waiver only applies to entrance fees and not those for lake use, camping or concessionaire fees.

The waiver applies to both lakes Mead and Mohave.

Special events are planned including Junior Ranger Day on April 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Mead's Boulder Beach picnic area.

"Meet Smoky Bear and park rangers, learn about area archaeology and enjoy easy-going ranger lead hikes. Kids and those who are kids at heart will be also be able to earn their Lake Mead junior ranger badge," according to a National Park Service news release.
