Body of tourist found near Boulder Highway

Las Vegas police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a tourist found near an east valley intersection Friday morning.

Police said a passer-by noticed the body in some bushes on the northwest corner of Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway. The person flagged down a nearby police officer about 11 a.m.

Lt. Lew Roberts said the victim was a black man in his late 20s. Although there were no visible signs of trauma to the body, detectives think the man might have been slain, he said. The Clark County coroner's office will determine how the man died.

The victim's name was not released. Roberts said the victim was not from Las Vegas and had arrived in town a few days ago.
