American Pacific Corp. reports wider loss, higher revenue

American Pacific Corp. of Las Vegas on Monday reported that its first-quarter loss widened although revenue rose.

In a statement, the company said its net loss was $3.6 million, or 48 cents per share, for the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a loss of $1.4 million, or 19 cents per share, a year earlier.

Revenues increased 3.2 percent to $35.2 million from $34.1 million.

The company's fine chemicals and aerospace equipment businesses reported higher revenues, but revenues dropped in the company's specialty chemicals and other businesses.

American Pacific shares rose 9 cents, or 1.51 percent, to close at $6.05 on the Nasdaq Global Market.
