North Las Vegas skate park shooting leaves one hospitalized

One person was shot at a North Las Vegas skate park early Sunday morning. The person, whose age and name were not available, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said police were called to the Area 702 Indoor Skate Park, 3040 Simmons St., at 2:07 a.m.

Police detained some people at the scene but no arrests were made. Bedwell did not know what led to the shooting.

The skate park is a private business licensed to hold events, Bedwell said, but recently nearby mini-mart owners have been complaining of crowds at the park's events causing trouble in their stores. Bedwell said police were going to look into the issue.
