Vandals arrested after doing $100,000 damage in North Las Vegas

Three teenagers suspected in a vandalism spree since December that caused more than $100,000 in damage were arrested in North Las Vegas on Friday.

North Las Vegas police first received reports about 9:30 p.m. that teenagers were throwing rocks, jumping on and kicking vehicles. In one incident, a manhole cover was thrown through a windshield.

The incidents took place north of Alexander Road, east of Simmons Street, south of Washburn Road and west of Camino Al Norte in the northwest part of the city, police said.

Police said the teenagers, who were not identified because they were juveniles, were arrested at 11:24 p.m. without incident after a traffic stop. They were booked at Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

This was the fourth vandalism event in North Las Vegas since December, a streak that has led to a cumulative 70 police reports.

The teenagers will face additional charges for the previous incidents, some of which took place in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction. More arrests are likely, police said.
