Angle, Reid in film news

Nevada politicians are in the movie news today.

The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported that Sen. Harry Reid, a movie buff, was seen at a downtown theater in Washington on Sunday attending a screening of "Blue Valentine."

Meanwhile, his Republican challenger in last year's Senate race, Sharron Angle, was headed to Iowa for the premiere Wednesday of a movie "that highlights the intersection of faith and science," according to the Des Moines Register. "The Genesis Code" is being screened in Johnston, which is outside Des Moines.

"A college hockey player and a female journalism student struggle to find common ground with their spiritual faith and scientific studies," according to a synopsis of the movie posted to the Internet Movie Database.

A press release for the premiere says "several big-name Iowa politicos are making an appearance," including two Republican National Committee members from Iowa, the head of the state Republican Party and the president of the Iowa Right to Life. The event is sponsored by the Iowa Christian Alliance Education Fund, and the Patriots Fund.
