Motorcycle officer hurt in accident

A motorcycle officer was involved in an accident shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday at Katie Avenue and Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas police have confirmed.

The officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was transported to University Medical Center.

Police said a vehicle traveling on Maryland Parkway swerved in front of the officer, causing him to hit the car and land thirty feet away.

Police are investigating the accident.
