Ex-Gov. Kenny Guinn buried in Exeter, Calif.

Former Gov. Kenny Guinn has been buried in his boyhood hometown of Exeter, Calif., after a graveside ceremony attended by more than 150 family members and friends.

Exeter District Cemetery Manager Roy Nelson said a police escort accompanied the body of Nevada's 28th governor from an airport in nearby Visalia for the Thursday morning ceremony.

Guinn grew up in Exeter, where he met his wife, Dema Lee Lane, in third grade.

He graduated from California's Fresno State University before moving to Nevada in 1964 as a Clark County school administrator.

Guinn died July 22 after falling from the roof of his Las Vegas home while making repairs. He was 73.

The Clark County coroner hasn't ruled whether the death was from natural causes or an accident.
