Mosley loses patience with lawyers in former college VP’s theft case

District Judge Donald Mosley finally lost patience on Wednesday with lawyers in the criminal theft case of former College of Southern Nevada associate vice president William "Bob" Gilbert.

Nearly two years after Gilbert was charged with stealing university materials to build his Mount Charleston home, the defense is still haggling with prosecutors over its efforts to see all of the evidence in the case.

As tempers flared on both sides at a court hearing, Mosley raised his voice above everyone and said he had enough of the bickering. He instructed the lawyers to work things out, as the Aug. 9 trial approaches.

Mosley is set to hold another hearing Friday on whether to grant defense claims of government misconduct and bar the attorney general’s office from using key evidence at trial that investigators seized from Gilbert’s home.
