SIGNINGS

Alison Arngrim will sign and discuss "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch" at 3 p.m. Saturday at Borders at Town Square, 6521 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Dorothy Howell will sign and discuss "Shoulder Bags and Shootings," and Morgan St. James will sign and discuss "Seven Deadly Samovars" at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway. (Howell also will be the guest speaker at the meeting of Sisters in Crime of Southern Nevada at 3 p.m. Aug. 8 at Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.)

EVENTS

The Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Centennial Hills Readers Circle meets at 10:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

STORY TIMES

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
