Budget concerns prompt closure of NLV passport office

North Las Vegas will close its passport office this week to save money.

Thursday is the last day the city will accept passport applications and take passport photos at the office, which opened in August 2006.

The cash-strapped city will save nearly $90,000 a year by closing the office, a North Las Vegas spokeswoman said.

A list of locations that provide passport application services is available at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com.
