One man dead after Henderson police fire on vehicle following standoff

Henderson police officers shot two people, killing one, after police said they attempted to run over officers Monday.

Henderson Police Department spokesman Keith Paul said officers pulled over a stolen vehicle with two armed male suspects inside about 8:10 p.m. on MacDonald Ranch Drive .

Police ordered the two to exit the vehicle, but they did not comply, Paul said. The two suspects barricaded themselves in the vehicle for about 45 minutes until the driver started the vehicle and drove in reverse toward the officers.

Multiple officers fired at the vehicle, striking the two suspects. The driver was pronounced dead. The passenger was taken to a hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries, Paul said.

The suspects' names were not released.
