Motorcyclist, passenger killed in wreck on U.S. Highway 95

A man and woman riding a motorcycle south on U.S. Highway 95 in Nye County died Sunday, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The identities of the 50-year-old man and the 53-year-old female passenger were not released.

The Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred about 2 p.m. near Amargosa Valley. The motorcyclist drifted off of the right side of the road. The passenger was thrown from the motorcycle, and the motorcyclist struck a barbed-wire fence. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
